It uses stronger internals and has k04 along with an updated pcv system. The motor isn't as smart as the tsi is but it is bullet proof. The Golf GTI has an optional performance package that increases horsepower output to 220.
The 2018 Golf GTI's 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 220 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, and can be paired to a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed dual-clutch automatic.
